AOL’s New Logo Comes to Life | Fast Company

The rippling, pixelated landscape reminds us of soundwaves.

We’re digging the iconic arrow cursors-meets-The Birds.

Embrace of the low-tech includes a cardboard camera, tissue paper, and stop-motion photography. Loves it.

A beautiful shout-out to consumerism. Makes us want to buy stuff on AOL.

Everyone bagged pretty hard on the new Aol. logo when it came out (myself included). I think it was the image of the goldfish that really struck a nerve with me, it’s an image I’ve seen thousands of time on stock art sites. Also the period, it’s just so arrogant. WIRED just posted some nice visualizations that help make sense of the new work-mark, they’re very nice and tell a story about what they’re trying to accomplish with the brand as a whole. It’s nice work but unfortunate that they have to tell me the story with a video.

FYI, there’s pre-roll at the beginning of EVERY video. Thanks WIRED – monetize much? q :|
